ELIZABETH H. FREEMAN, ATTORNEY AT LAW
During law school, Ms. Freeman served editorial positions on both Federal Courts Law Review and Maritime Law Bulletin. She was a recipient of the Charleston School of Law’s Merit Scholarship and she attended Vermont Law School’s nationally recognized environmental law summer program. In addition, she served as Judicial Extern to the Honorable David C. Norton, Chief Judge for U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, and clerked for the Charleston County Public Defender. After taking the South Carolina bar exam, Ms. Freeman served as law clerk to the Honorable Steven H. John, Chief Administrative Judge for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit of South Carolina. Ms. Freeman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in international political science from the University of the South in 2004, where she was also an inductee in the Order of the Gownsmen academic honors society. While she was a student at the University of the South, Ms. Freeman took leave to study politics at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, where she was personal campaign assistant to the former Minister of Finance in Scottish Parliament.
